There is a time and place for relaxing acoustically styled jazz, and Melody has hit the proverbial nail on the head. Featuring female singer, Melody Gardot, Melody matches the seductive quality of other jazz female vocalists such as Norah Jones. If the lighting is dim, Melody adds the perfect touch for dinner, late night studying, or what ever else you might think of.

Rishloo, a New Discovery

courtesy of It’s starts off quiet. Sure, it sounds like it might be a slow song, but suddenly it heads somewhere else. Freaks and Animals, a song by Washington based band, Rishloo, begins with a spacey guitar line but segues into an alternative rock head-banger. What is a Rishloo? I’m not quite sure, but one thing is for certain: they are successfully writing original music. Already they have two albums available: Eidolon (2007) and Terras Fames (2004). I’m not entirely sure what either of their album titles mean either.
